Fifteen States sue to stop Keeping Families Together Program

Texas and fourteen other states just filed a complaint in the United States District Court, Easter District of Texas, to stop President Biden’s new parole-in-place program.
The lawsuit states that absent court intervention, the program effectively “provides a new pathway to a green card and eventual citizenship, allowing more than 1.3 million people to circumvent the processes established by Congress to apply for permanent residency.”

The lawsuit also states the new program will “encourage illegal immigration and will irreparably harm the Plaintiff States” and asks the federal court to temporarily restrain the operation of the PIP Program to allow it time to consider entering a preliminary injunction.

Despite the lawsuit and its misleading affirmations, we will continue to work (now against the clock of a possible injunction) to file these petitions. However, it is possible that an injunction could issue in the near future. We will keep you informed of any new developments through our social media channels.
