Alma focuses her practice on removal defense, working directly with families who have been placed in removal proceedings and are facing deportation from the United States.
She assists immigrants who qualify for services under the Massachusetts Access to Counsel (MACI) program, funded by an Office for Refugee and Immigrants grant.
Born and raised in Albania, Alma is a first-generation immigrant whose own journey inspires her passion for immigration law and commitment to client-centered advocacy. She is fluent in Albanian and English and has conversational proficiency in Spanish.
Prior to joining Massa Viana Law, Alma served as Senior Director of Immigrant Services at Jewish Family Service of Metrowest, where she led refugee resettlement and immigrant service programs and supported refugees and asylees through critical stages of their legal journeys. Her background in both direct services and legal advocacy informs her work representing immigrants in removal proceedings today. Her legal background also includes experience in landlord-tenant law and post-foreclosure proceedings.
Alma values time with her family and enjoys exploring new countries and cuisines.
