Cristina Tsai graduated from Sao Paulo’s Pontifical Catholic University Law School, and worked as a civil litigation attorney after law school, and later with corporate law.
A descendant of immigrants herself, Cristina personally experienced the effects of immigration on her family, especially how it adapted their culture and values to that of their adopted homeland. And just like her grandparents, Cristina would immigrate with part of her family to the United States, leaving behind daily interactions with loved ones she had lived with until then.

Cristina was introduced to Massa Viana Law in its early stages. Originally a client of the firm when it was still a solo practice, Cristina became one of its first hires. She spent one year there working as a paralegal, before moving on to human services, another passion of hers. Her compassion and empathy led her to become an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault at a local non-profit. Through that work, Cristina navigated the Massachusetts judicial system, providing crucial support to survivors who needed access to the court system and helping them secure protective orders.

Cristina saw the impact her work could have on others on a very personal level, which reaffirmed her belief that everyone has the right to pursue a better life for themselves and their families—and immigration is one of those paths. Fueled by a desire to learn more, she completed her L.L.M. at Northeastern School of Law in 2021, and made her way back to Massa Viana Law, where she currently serves as an Assistant Manager, and director to its Brazilian counterpart, Massa Viana Ltda.

Cristina cherishes her time with family and friends, enjoys crying over romantic movies, loves exploring new places, and cherishes helping lead an organization that changes lives daily.
