Flávio Pereira Jr

Paralegal

Flavio was born and raised in Florianopolis, Brazil. While in Brazil, because of his love for computers, he first began studying Computer Science at Universidade Estacio de Sá, also working in IT Support at a hospital.

In 2018, Flavio visited the United States to attend a family member’s wedding, and visited many different places in Boston and New York. After going back to Brazil, he started to wonder how it would be to spend a couple of months here instead of just a few days. In January of 2020, Flavio arrived at JFK Airport, and started his immigration journey.

The experience of immigrating to another country and going through the immigration process himself, sparked an interest in law, which led him to change career paths. He begun working as a legal assistant at an immigration law office. While doing so, he enrolled at Middlesex Community College to pursue a Paralegal Studies Certificate.

Flavio joined Massa Viana in December 2023, and works as a Paralegal for the USCIS Team. Although he works in several different cases, focuses on Special Immigrant Juvenile and Adjustment of Status (Green Card) cases.

Fluent in both English and Portuguese, Flavio learned English by himself, using books and games to develop his language skills. Currently he is improving his Spanish so he can communicate better with clients.

In his free time, he takes care of his peculiar pets—two pet rats, a snake, and a gecko. He also cares for the plants of the office, as he loves to take care of his own plants.
